What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:"I have been wearing these on surf trips and beach days, and the NetPlus nylon dries almost instantly between sessions, so I am never walking around in wet, heavy shorts. The textured drawcord actually stays knotted in heavier surf, which makes a bigger difference than you would expect when a set catches you off guard."A good day in the water starts with shorts that do not get in the way, and the Patagonia Wavefarer 19in Boardshort is designed to disappear into the session from the first paddle out to the last wave of the afternoon. Built from 4-ply NetPlus recycled nylon faille made from post-consumer fishing nets, the fabric is rugged, quick-drying, and treated with a PFAS-free DWR finish that sheds water fast so the shorts feel light whether you are in the lineup, walking the beach, or grabbing food after a long morning in the water. The contoured waistband and double-lace textured drawcord create a secure, personalized fit that holds through wipeouts and heavy sets without constant readjusting, and the forward inseam construction eliminates chafing on long sessions. A streamlined right-hip pocket with a noncorroding zipper, internal key loop, and self-draining construction keeps essentials safe and accessible without adding bulk or dragging in the water. At 19 inches, the outseam hits a versatile medium length that transitions naturally from surf to casual without looking out of place in either setting. Built from Bluesign-approved materials and made to handle serious water time, the Wavefarer 19in Boardshort is the pair worth bringing on every trip.
